Dark Passion Play - Discussion

tuomas really poured his heart into the lyrics and music, and everyone made a marvelous job. marco's bassline really synchronized with your heartbeat, emppu's solos were absolute face melters as usual, jukka's drumming...oh lordy..those kick pedals sure did their work, anette's vocals were brutal and she made a great first impression, and tuomas..well, he is who he is and we all know what he does ;p

I love it, one of my all time favourite albums, Femme Metal or otherwise. I'm not too keen on Master Passion Greed, but apart from that I love all of it.

YAY for Todd! More DPP lovers! I adore MPG , sooooooo heavy! And Marco sounds ......<3

Yeah, it's a great song, but not quite as good as the rest of the album. I think my favourites are Amaranth, The Islander and 7 Days to the Wolves.

Mine one is The Poet And The Pendulum , great to hear that we have more NW fans!

Ah, so tough >.< I'd say Amaranth, but The Islander came very close.

Mine would be & Days To The Wolves yeah thats Epic not as epic as TPATP but I prefer the other one ah well

The Poet and The Pendulum,

Meadows Of Heaven; one of NW's best ballads.

It was kinda hard...it was a tie between Poet and the Pendulum, The Islander, and Meadows of Heaven...but I chose The Poet and the Pendulum. It's stunningly epic

For me it's The Poet and The Pendulum. The rest of my favs are Sahara, Master Passion Greed and Meadows of Heaven.

Don't worry !!! Everybody is trying to protect his opinion (and the person he or she likes ) !!

When Tarja left, I lost interest in Nightwish, so I have not heard much from the new album.
but I promise to listen and give my opinion later.

DPP is the album that made me love NW, so It should be like my 2 or 3 fav one. But I truly love everything about it.

Found it really hard to choose between Poet & the Pendulum and Escapist... love both of those so much. DPP is probably my second or third favourite Nightwish album. The orchestration is brilliant! I don't like Meadows of Heaven much but I love all the other songs.

P.S. I am a Tarja fan and an Anette fan.

Master Passion Greed is my absolute favorite.
Followed by The Islander, Last of the Wilds and The Escapist.

Further then those, the songs on DPP just couln't really touch me.

The Poet and The Pendulum is imo absolute perfection. I want to die listening to that song.

It could be my favorite, if not that I feel Anette's vocals are quite restrained on it. Next one I'm sure will be much better for her.
