We Are The Others

Apparently they are going to have more expensive production, real orchestra etc, so it's going to be bigger thing this time.
They have played couple of new songs live already.







I think they all sound more promising than anything they have done before

If it's more symphonic and more heavy I'm sure I will love it

well, never liked much Delain, but I gotta say that April Rain was a fairly decent album, and I hope this turns out to be a good album too! :3

As Delain finished the songs for their upcoming album, it’s time to break some news about the long awaited record.
The band is in the middle of the recording process for their yet still
nameless album. It will be produced by Jacob Hellner, renowed for
producing Rammstein, Clawfinger and Apocalyptica, alongside the
Epicentre team of Fredrik Thomander and Anders Wickstrom (Scorpions, Kim
Wilde, No Angels, Backyard Babies, N’sync). Some of you eagle eyed fans
might have spotted them in pictures of studio reports before. As Delain
has finished all songs for the upcoming record they will, together with
this talented trio, make sure that Delain’s third sounds nothing less
then massive. The recordings are taking place in several studio’s in
Stockholm. The band states:

“After loads of touring activities and and some turmoil at the record
company, It’s great to finally be in the process of getting the album
together. More so in such legendary places with people involved in such
legendary records. We’ve written some killer material and these are best
possible circumstances to make it come to live”

I was thinking how awesome it was that they had the producer from Rammstein and Apocalyptica... then they had to go and mention N'Sync, lol

^haha xD but yeah that one kinda blows the how awesome feeling.
Music so far sounds nice though so hope it'll be as nice as the other albums.

Charlotte said that the title track is inspired by the murder of Sophie Lancaster:

She and her boyfriend were beaten comatose by a gang of youths, because of their goth looks. Sophie died from her injuries (check also: http://sophielancasterfoundation.com). This tragedy sent shock waves throughout the world. DELAIN’s response to this tragic case is expressed through the song We Are The Others. Charlotte says:

“Sophie’s story hit close to home for us, being part of a subculture ourselves but it’s in no way an individual case; people are discriminated against -all the time- to the point of violence - based on their cultural or ethnic background everywhere. We Are The Others is our own ‘outsiders anthem’ for everybody who, deliberately or not, diverts from the norm. Whether it’s by looking different, acting different, or choosing a different path in life then is expected from you.”

Awww! That's a great idea.

I'm not a huge fan of Delain, actually not at all, however this sounds interesting. It's all evolving into something pretty decent....
I liked Lucidity, but it was more due to the guest work than the band themselves, April Rain is not my thing, and it seems like this one might grab my attention. Judging on these songs it seems to be heavier, more instrumental, more orchestrated. I'll check it out.

In my opinion, I wish they'd hurry up and freaking release the album already.

There's not been much word or hype about the album. To be honest that makes it even worse waiting for me.

I find it really weird when bands don't seem to be promoting themselves much... I mean if I ever get a publishing deal, I'll be trying to spread the word about my books as much as possible!

Wow that album cover is just…..WOW! xD this one just has so much more depth to it compared to the others and I love the color choices/tone on this one. Beautiful, very beautiful cover art.

The only thing I don't like about it is the weird hummingbird-ipod thing... At least it's original though

Is is just me, or does it feel like it's taking forever for them to get this released?

It feels like that with all albums for me! Because of Twitter and Facebook I know when bands are recording an album and when they've designed the album art etc, so I always expect them to be released really soon

But I do find it weird that I haven't seen any official release date for WATO yet. But they did say the 'album showcase' would be on April 22nd...
