Richard's oddities

Here is some of my lyrics.

These were on my Solo album "3 Steps from Crazy."

They are are collectively known as "The Source of all Suffering"

Scarculture:
twisted tortured brought to your knees,
the falacies defy convention,
crying out for someone to hear,
tragic misfortune prospers lies,

Pierced, branded, tattood blood ran ink,
language by design, artwork for presense,
screams severed by swinging hooks,
corpse painted faces nowhere to hide,

Faded deities crumble into ruin,
out reaching hands seek salvation,
realization, decoration, demise,
faintest breath of life slips sinking fast,

Guilded by power,
garnered by forsaken lives,
profitless margin supports,
our stocks yield for death,

Scar culture inhumanity,
nothing lost nothing to gain,
scar culture the last ticker tape parade,
Our Generation, our culture, Scarred...


Firestorm:

Reality sinks in, essense of life
Fleeting moments, fibroin strands
Capsized of events, foreborn in rage
Firestorm of hatred, innocence dies

Frantic quivers, silence screams
damnation echos, titanic waves
Cyclic sensations, alter perceptions
timecode withdrawel, of systemic lies

sorrow, melting into suffering
sorrow, sustaining the mortal coils
sorrow, defined by causation, enmass despair
sorrow, suffering, hatred defined

Sole colapse of the hybred steeds
Fascination macabre desires
Feast of minions from the bounty
gathered unto the manic sires


Passenger (Lost in Time):
Clinging to life, Segments in time,
Wasteland, Fragments defined,
Once captured souls, Torment desires,
Pestilence reborn, False demons arise,

Augeries read, Encryption of truth,
tragic manipulations, faded lies,
pendants hanging like fallen stars
Hail scorn majestic leaders torn

Airlocks sealed, decompression begins,
Circumvent, navigation complete,
Spiraling endless towards the finite,
Holding cards, tarot amber skies,

Cascading landscapes,
harken to dreamlike visions,
Rails run far into the night,
moments lost in time, Passenger,

Free my wings, Spread in flight,
Drafting, Climbing, I'm Finally Free,
Soaring, Dashing, Chasing the Sun,
Free long at last, I am Passenger.

Amazing! Some have a sense of power, anger and hatred, which is great as it expresses emotion in the text.

I wrote this group of lyrics shortly after th mass murder slaying at Virginia Tech University in 2007. As members of academia it affected Sue and I a lot. Rarely I have any luck at all with lyrics, they either come to me fast or not at all. Firestorm was the first done, then Scarculture, and then Passenger. However once I wrote the music for the songs, it was immediately clear that Scar culture would be the first song in the suite.
